Sunday School
The Sunday School Department offers classes for all age groups from
Nursery to Senior Adults. The literature used is a combination of David C.
Cook and Life Way. From time to time, special interest classes are offered
covering such topics as Experiencing God, Bible Foundations, and Parenting
by Grace. There is also an ongoing class for women.
Young at Heart (Senior Adult Program)
The Young at Heart program is for ages 55 and up, and anyone else who
would like to join. There is a variety of activities including, fellowship
meals, day trips, speakers, and ministry to others. The meetings are
monthly except for January and February. The meeting dates and times are
flexible and are printed in the church newsletter, church bulletin, and
are announced on Sunday mornings prior to each scheduled meeting.

Baptist Men
The men of The Brotherhood view this as an opportunity for ministry to
their church and to their community. They consider it a privilege to serve
Christ by helping others and encouraging them along life’s way. An added
benefit is the fellowship the men receive from coming together and sharing
with each other.
The men of Pine Grove are invited to bring their ideas and meet together
the last Thursday of each month. The meeting dates and times are printed
in the church bulletin and/or announced on Sunday mornings prior to each
scheduled meeting.
Children’s Church/Children’s Choir
Children’s Church is for children ages 3-6 on Sunday mornings. After the
Children’s Sermon, the children are led to a classroom where they
participate in a Biblical lesson prepared for their age level. When a
child reaches age seven, they are encouraged to remain in the sanctuary
for the regular morning worship service.
Children’s Choir is for children ages 3 and up on Sunday evenings. They
begin the worship service by singing a song, and then they go downstairs
to learn more songs, memorize scripture, have prayer time, and listen to
stories that teach Biblical character qualities. The energy and excitement
that the children bring to this choir is a must-see!

AWANA
This program is committed to equipping parents in building strong
Christian families. Our Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed program (AWANA)
is an excellent tool for helping children study the Bible and memorize
verses that will stay with them for a lifetime.
The internationally recognized AWANA program is designed around the
completion of a series of award levels involving Bible memory and special
activities. As each level is reached, the children receive an award,
recognition from other children in the program, and recognition from the
group leaders. Children entering the program at age 3 could memorize up to
627 Bible verses by the 6th grade.
The AWANA club involves young people from age 3 through high school and
meets on Wednesday evenings during the months of September through May.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (II Timothy 2:15)

Youth
Ministry
The youth program is for people ages 12 and up, and
meets on Tuesday nights. The meetings begin with games and then move on to
a praise and worship service including skits, testimonies, life changing
lessons, prayer, and an invitation. After praise and worship, the meetings
conclude with refreshments and more games.
There are two Sunday school classes for the youth to choose from. One
class is for those youth who are out of high school and covers a wide
range of topics. The other class is for youth ages 12 through 18. On
Sunday nights, the youth gather to watch Christian videos.
A new area that has been added is the Senior Youth Program. This group
consists of high school seniors and older youth. They meet on Friday
nights for a meal and for a lesson on how to become leaders in the Youth
program as well as in the church.

WMU
The goal of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) is to inspire Baptist women
to worship and to serve God through a committed spiritual life as
described in Romans 12:1, “…present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
One aspect of this spiritual life and service is the support of missions.
Jesus commanded that we go and teach others about Him (Matthew 28:18-20;
Acts 1:8). As ambassadors for Christ (II Corinthians 5:20), the WMU at
Pine Grove supports ongoing missionary efforts through prayer, through
personal evangelism, and through financial support.

From the Pastor
Our motto at Pine Grove Baptist Church is “A Friendly Church That
Cares.” We strive each day to live according to this motto by being a
church that genuinely cares for people. Because of all the things Christ
has done for us, we seek to give back to our community and to the world by
sharing Christ in a loving manner. We do our best to teach not only
ourselves about Christ but to teach others as well.
We are a Bible believing, God-centered, conservative church that wants
Christ to be lifted up as an example to others. We believe that:
• A Church is a creation of Christ. “…upon this rock I will build my
church…” (Matthew 16:18)
• A Church is a living body of Christ with many members. “Now ye are the
body of Christ.” (I Corinthians 12:27)
• A Church should have Christ as head of the body. All matters of the
Church are to come under His lordship.
(Ephesians 1:22; 4:15-16)
• Every member is uniquely related to every other member of the Church.
All members need each other. (I Corinthians 12)
• A Church is on a mission with Christ in our world carrying out the
Father’s redemptive purpose. We are God’s fellow workers. (Matthew
28:18-20)
If you do not have a church home, we invite you to come and worship with
us at Pine Grove. “For we are labourers together with God.” (I Corinthians
3:9)
