J.E.B. STUART BED AND BREAKFAST

In addition to a beautiful new barn & other buildings on the farm, you'll find the original 'Hollow Post Office'. You see, the man who built this home in 1895', Bill Bowman, was the postmaster of 'The Hollow Va.' which is what this area was called before it became Ararat, Va. Mr. Bowman built the post office right here on the farm at the corner of Ararat Hwy & The Hollow Road. (which was dirt back then)

By the way, the woman who was born in this house, Icy Bowman, was the person who later owned the property along with her husband George E. Brown  where the  J.E.B. Stuart birthplace is. She  was instrumental in turning it into a historical site!
